We're often asked "what is a trackband?" A trackb We're often asked "what is a trackband?" A trackband is a visual marker on a vinyl record that signals where each song starts. This helps if you're wanting to listen to a specific song on a record without having to guess. Trackbands are critically important for DJs. Pictured are a couple of extreme examples of sides with a lot of short songs. A side with only one song wouldn't have any trackbands! Trackbands are created by the lathe motor momentarily speeding up as the carriage and cutterhead move across the disc.
