Every once in a while, a lacquer can have a bubble toward the center of the disc. They're often small and difficult to spot, but they can break off the end of the stylus if cut through. Here's a close-up from a microscope taken yesterday. Pressed at @gottagrooverecs CLEVELAND, Ohio – Soon, the tenure of Franz Welser-Möst at the Cleveland Orchestra won’t just exist in memory or on paper. It will have physical form. On Tuesday, the orchestra announced the Nov. 6 release of “Signature Welser-Möst,” a 15-disc vinyl box set commemorating the music director’s 25 years at Severance Music Center. The limited-edition set, featuring a slate of performances hand-picked by Franz Welser-Möst, reflects the conductor’s wide-ranging musical taste and fondness for contemporary music and collaboration with the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus. Most of the performances were recorded at Severance Music Center (formerly Severance Hall), the orchestra’s longtime home in Cleveland.
